A Word from the Executive

Dear patrons, members and friends,

In 1981, when the internet was but a rumour, some energetic and theatre-loving members of Quebec City’s English-language community got together to stage a production of Gilbert & Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance. In the 40 years since then, what became Quebec Art Company has entertained, delighted and amazed faithful audiences with 70 shows, from rousing musicals to hilarious farces to powerful dramas.

Now, thanks to the wonders of the internet, QAC is able to collect, organize, upload and immortalize a wealth of memories from that impressive repertoire of productions - including the poster, photos and newspaper reports of that very first production.

What you will see, explore, treasure and maybe cause you to sigh and shed a tear, is the archive and celebration of an incredible amount of hard work, genuine talent, creativity, determination, boundless fun and shared experience.

These webpages are proof of the amazing vitality of our bold and brave little English-language community theatre group. The world has changed and QAC has changed, but the memories remain rich and eternal.
Enjoy.
